When should I apply for CHP?

It just makes no sense to me. You have someone who works for the CHP that says no tattoos visible. Then you have this video from the CHP with a guy with a full sleeve tattoo.

So if you have tattoos and are accepted in to the academy is it long sleeve shirts for you everyday?

must be covered at all times. including during PT. cadets with arm tats wear long sleeve uniforms year round and they would either put ace wraps or lycra/spandex sleeves over them during PT. on the road, the officers at my office with arm tats wear short sleeves, and cover the tats with ace wraps or lycra/spandex sleeves.

Just got my letter in the mail about where to go for the written test, as well as what to bring.

So far I've taken two practice tests, both of which I passed with a high enough score to keep me from worrying. I'll be taking two more prior to the test date (Jan 9th).

where did you find the practice tests? links, or books?
thanks.

There's one available through the CHP's website. Otherwise, I checked out books from the library and photocopied the tests at home.

Just take the test.. don't over think it. Don't read to much into the test.... just take the test.

So you violated copyright laws by photocopying the test for a police exam? I guess there is not an ethics part on the exam.:p

Me thinks your chain got pulled. This won't be the first time, nor the most elegant.

I know (JPM did end with a ":p"). But for the more dense, I explained why it's fine.

Just pass the test. It doesnt matter how high you score. The only thing that matters is the interview.

Interview is a pass or fail so it really doesn't matter any more or any less than the written.

Really? Then how does CHP rank applicants to decide who they are going to put through a background investigation? Are you saying everyone who passes the interview goes to backgrounds?
