All the sh!t talk about Harley Davidison

Hardly movingstons, even LEO ones, top out at pretty low speeds.

P.S. I like cruisers, just not HD.

:facepalm

You ever ridden one?? I guess all the police deparments in the US that use Harley Electraglide models for their daily motor officer patrol bike are ok with the uncomfortable seating position and would rather just look good and make a fashion statement, even though they spend most of the day riding on them, all week long. Either they are into S&M or you don't actually know what you're talking about, I think.:rolleyes

Yes, actually I have. Feet stuck out like I'm on a gynocological exam table. And just because moto cops ride them, that doesn't mean that's the best bike or the most comfortable. Moto cops really have no choice of what they ride. And for years, departments would only buy American. Then Kawasaki came along and all the moto cops I've ever talked to said it was a superior bike in many ways. (Though now dated, of course.) And in the rest of the world, what to moto cops ride?......sport touring bikes like Honda's ST1100 and ST1300, and BMW's by the score. You don't see anyone of them choosing cruisers.

And as for riding all day on them, sure, people do it. But people will do crazy things in the name of fashion. Women wear high heels and cramped shoes and wax and shave and pull hair, etc. Some men ride cruisers. It's an emphasis on fashion instead of function.

Oh, and I've ridden a real cop bike before.

Riding a Harley is a Blues thang... you can't blues ride an RC45...

Solid wheels? :facepalm

Had you been riding that thing yesterday at the coast you'd have been pushed off the road and possibly over a cliff.

Always thought V-rods were cool in their way, but solid wheels?

Not appropriate on any motorized vehicle that I can think of.

Those look pretty hideous on the VROD, but I've always liked the Centerline Autodrags for muscle cars.

I think comfort and what you consider to be "good handling" are all relative and personal preference.

I ride a BMW cop bike for 12 hours a day. I'm more comfortable on my Harley. My BMW handles "better" than my Harley, but for me my Harley handles absolutely wonderful. I can, with very little effort, ride as fast or turn as hard as I'd ever want to on the street, this is why two full bags and a passenger stuck on the back too. I don't need the extra corner speed that the BMW gives me for street riding. It's simply not something I need, or want....

Cruisers are not trying to be "performance" bikes, just as semi-trucks aren't trying to be porsches. Apples to Oranges man, Apples to Oranges.

I take it your dad is an engineer, and he told you about that? :twofinger

um... no....

plenty of fatties have the original solids and the riders are still alive...

it's just like how some people complain about wind constantly and how they "almost died" when the wind pushed them over, yet most of us handle wind juuust fine....

I rode the coast with a guy, an experienced rider, who had solid rims on a windy day.

To say he had some "issues" staying within his lane would be an understatement.

Not even talking about the horrific effect heavy wheels have on a bike with already limited suspension.

I'll let you guess what brand of bike my friend was riding. :twofinger

AV cables of all sorts can typically be had for <$5

They did a test in a audio magazine years and years ago comparing high end speaker wire... There was some wire in the comparison that was oxidized blah blah reference super conductive 20 dollars an inch stuff, and none of the testers could tell the difference between it and Radio Shack bulk 12 ga speaker wire :laughing

I got hella pissed when I went on newegg.com and looked up cables. I saw a DVI -> HDMI cable for $7 when radioshack tried to sell it for $90 to me. Makes me regret ever buying from that store over the years.

I believe it. There's likely some difference, but it probably requires a 20,000 dollar HP scope or frequency analyzer to show it up.

I wish I couldn't hear the difference, this stuff costs a lot of money and I could save a ton!

Thanx, Russ

P.S. Yeah, and a Ninja 250 rides the same as a Desmosedici...........if only.

analog signals are one thing, but the idea of premium cables for digital content shows profound ignorance on the part of the buying public.
