Driving their parents BMW would brand them as an uncool snob. The Jeep lets them pretend to be down to earth and "rebellious", even though they live in a $2M home and their parents intend to pay their way thru college.

A base Wrangler is actually a pretty solid first car imo. Make the kid maintain it himself and he won't have any money for drugs.

I guess I just can't see an intelligent father giving their kid something as big and powerful and pretentious as a Raptor as their first car. Second or third car maybe, and that's only if the kid worked for some/most of the money.

That RUF isn't just "tail happy" its unstable under power to the point that its just slow. Pretty much a master class in how ruin a great package with too much HP and inadequate chassis upgrades.
