Cars that make your jaw drop.

Pretty much any air cooled 911 ever.

Been day-dreaming about this for the last 2 days

Nope, just walk in and look around.

Huh.. I walk/cycle past them all the time. Maybe I'll drop by next time I'm by them.

Oh and to contribute, I have a soft spot for 80's cars no one really likes:

I'm a die hard fox Mustang guy, but I just can't get behind the SVO. What they should have done is put the upgraded suspension and brakes on an aluminum head small block. Keep the weight down in the front of the car, but keep the 5-lug and 4 wheel disc of the SVO. I liked the idea, but shoulda done something better than a turbo 2.3L.

Speaking of drooly foxes...

Well Nick they keep talking about putting the EcoBoost in and bringing back the SVO. Of course it wouldn't be called that since we all know that SVO became SVT. But the point is...turbocharged 4 banger Mustang. It might happen for the all new generation they've got on deck.

I have heard the Ecoboost 4 in the Mustang will only be available overseas.
US may retain the V-6 and the almighty V-8.

This.

I bought an '86 5.0 notch new. A buddy bought a new SVO. The 5.0 didn't handle too well, and didn't stop at all. The SVO did well at both of those, but the 2.3 is a thrasher; no bottom-end, and much noise and vibration at the top end.

There were no 5.0 aluminum heads back then. There was pretty much NO aftermarket, and the EFI was voodoo. Progress is good :thumbup

You forgot one of the coolest turbo cars of that era, Mitsubitchin Starion. Those looked awesome. If they didn't have a problem with the turbos dying I would have bought one back then.

I had an 85' and it walked all over those injected 86's. Course as soon as the aftermarket caught up, having a carb'd street car wasn't all that great if you kept is smog legal.

'86 LX 5.0 is what solidified my love of the Mustang.
Had a boss who had one and he used to have me detail it for free, and I would borrow it for the weekend. I think my Mini Cooper S could blow the doors off that car, but it was still fun to do burnouts at the stop lights at the age of 19.

For me there was always something about blazing the tires and punting that tail section sideways that made those cars fun. Fast, not really, certainly by today's standards. Mine was pretty slammed and handled reasonably, but the brakes were almost as bad as the ride of a lowered mustang...:laughing. I'd still have mine, but someone decided to steal it and trash it a number of years ago.

Six years later, mine still makes my jaw drop on the track. She's soooooo fun to loop TH.

Yes I realize this is not TH, but it's one of my better shots of my car on the track.

I dunno. Two other buddies had identical '85 GTs, and they were both pretty even with my '86. They were all 5-speeds. What I like about the EFI was that it was much more linear; no secondaries!

Go straight to the bathroom and wash your mouth out with soap.

pretty much. I had a 92 notch/5 speed I bought maybe 6-7 years ago with 180k on it. I think I paid around $1600 but it was beat. All stock, the thing was awesome. Would do donuts for days, easy to kick the tail out.

Those cars are bad on paper, but just drive so well and upgrade so well. Kind of like an SV650. I agree the SVO engine wasn't nearly as nice as a 5.0, but the 5 lug, bitchin seats, nice shocks, rear discs sort of made up for it. You could swap a few parts out on them and make 200+ hp pretty easily too. I kind of want to find a nice SVO and swap a LS1/6 speed into it. Really easy swap and I love the goofy looks of the SVO.
