Great pictures. :teeth
I'd go to Mammoth on the 14th rather than the 24th.
Sounds like a good time

haven't ridden with you guys since this thread started two years ago...

I would love to do a ride Monday morning at SDF or Pogonip/ UCSC. Like to get home before the traffic turns crazy. (I'm in SJ)

I remember a post about some Santa Cruz local offering to guide.

Anyone up for this?

Butch... I'm in... maybe.

meeting time/place?

I dunno

Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Co, 8yam? Traffix is gonna be stupid in the afternoon

Pogonip and SDF are really...

People really have no clue how fantastic these places are.

Home is 408-258-6503

Just for fun, where is Christy, Wickedwahine? I thought she was gonna be my dentist!

Tamarancho with Harpo today.

Joe was kind enough to tow my ever increasing ass around Tamarancho this morning.
I have been riding a long time, with many very talented riders, and Joe is one of the best riding buddies I have ever had. He never tried to drop me, was always aware/checking to see how I was doing, and was quick on the way down the singletrack.
I chickened out on a second loop (8 mi.) and promised to ride a double loop in two weeks. So here is the post.

Sat. Sept 16.
Tamaranco/Boy Scout Camp in Fairfax
Sixteen miles of rippin' singletrack.
On the trail at 8:30 to avoid the crowds.

Bring your skills, and a decent set of legs. Physically it's not too tough. It can be done in the middle ring if your in shape. It is fairly technical. Not a good place to be sloppy, or ride beyond your abilities.

I will be doing afternoon/early evening training rides in the Shell Ridge/ Mt. Diablo area if anyone wans to come out and tune the legs up.

Since I missed my morning open water swim, I went out to Tamarancho a little after you guys (around noon). I've been timing myself from the start of the singletrack off of Iron Springs Road back ot the same spot. Joe said you guys did a 58:30 - I knocked four seconds off my personal best to do a 1:00:17!

Played with my GPS trainer a little out there, here are some stats:

Los Gatos Roasting Co is at 101 Main, just west of the bridge.

And I looked at a map; Pogonip/ Ucon trail is just outta Santa Cruz. The Ucon trail is just N of where the RR tracks cross 9.

Meet at LG CR Co, drive 17 to 1 to 9 park and RIDE!

Wha time?

c yall in 11 and a half hours

Carbon bits are the suxors.. I broke my XO derailer today... I need some metal -bash'em as hard as you like- components.

Thanks for showing me around Butch!

UCSC

fun riding with you guys, tho short.

I ended up wandering thru the forest till 12:30 and exploring lots of great terrain.

What a place...

(and the remarks about Korean, Chinese and Indian business ethics was a cultural slur, not a racial one... sometimes what i say doesn't always have the flavor i indended))

Are you going Mikey??

PS. Greg and I are hitting Tamorancho this Sat. morning.

Gimme a buzz when you're off work.

Joe,

I'm all kinds of beat after that triathlon last weekend. Gotta give my body a couple of weeks to recover, so I'll probably be doing some swimming or an easy roadbike ride. I'm supposed to give myself about three weeks before I can start cranking hard again, but I figure I'll be back on the trails in two weeks.

Still undecided on Ales and Trails - seems like a relaxing time out, depends on the kind of shape I'm in after that beer / pool social in Napa on Saturday.
