Do You Road Bike?

Well usually the fit starts with saddle position, then stem is whatever a rider can tolerate. Changing seatpost to no setback affects the position of your hip and knee. If you think you are just reaching too much try getting a shorter stem. It will affect the handling.

Is not being able to ride in the drops the only issue? If it is, I would just leave it a alone. Personally only time I am in the drops is on descents or in races.

Dont really need to ride in the drops. My seat is all the way forward also. I was thinking the adjustable stem would work because at its longest it would be 85 but if I raise it that technically shortens it a little too. Read some reviews that adjustables arent the greatest. Could just get a shorter fixed stem and see how that works first.

What's the deal with bike direct bikes? They any good?

Define good? Major components will be from reliable manufacturer. Frames will be generic, and from heavier materials. The quality is descent. I think most people who posted about the bikes they got from them were happy for what they paid. :dunno

Went with another specialized instead. Might be junk but, I like. Carbon fork and rear stay. All 105 components. 2007 with maybe 100 miles on it. Getting ready for a daulathon in a few weeks

Awesome. :thumbup Doesn't sound like too bad of a bike.

Since Kestrel was bought by Fuji, I've read some bad stories about them honoring frame warranties.

Opinions? :confused

Really? I thought fuji bikes are the same as bikesdirect bikes.

Hmm I don't think so. There was some talk few years ago that bikedirect bikes were just re-branded fuji, but I think that died down quite a while ago. I am sure they are made in the same factories thought. :laughing

Picked up my front race wheel that Ritchey replaced under crash replacement policy, only took 5 month. That's a weekend at Thunderhill right there. :|

I think it's the ones that say "Circuit Race"...some classes are Fri, some on Sat, Pros are on Sun

Ah thanks. Probably register for that if spots still available in January or so. Really don't want to think about next race season yet. :laughing

Sea otter is too expensive!!! Luckily the free stuff you can pick up at the expo (and the bike porn) is almost worth it.
I'm going to try to get my moto ref's clinic in so I can get paid to ride laguna on my bike :p

That's on the high side for a circuit race and crit. And that's only if you register early, wasn't there a $10 late fee last year? And aren't there reg fees added onto that, or am I wrong?
I know the grand fondo was $90-$100 for day of, and they had an ass load of people!

Plus, the only people who got paid to work the race were the usac officials, everyone else was volunteer for the military, or for sponsorships of local youth sports teams.

I got paid to be there so I'm not really complaining, but I think the races are all more expensive than they should be.
