Flat Track Racing Mega Thread - INCLUDES SPOILERS!

Daytona Short Track 2 postponed until tomorrow evening due to rain.
 
FansChoice.tv finally posted the Thursday night Daytona Short Track Singles and Twins main events. And they even posted them as separate events (8 min for Singles / 14 min for Twins) rather than just posting the whole 3 hour program in one lump.
 
Just saw that the opening ceremonies are at 6:00 pm eastern time tomorrow one hour earlier. Tune in at 3:00 pm Pacific.
 
Really good night of racing on a slippery track. Kopp is Mr. Smooth. Daniels took his time and worked hard to get to the front.
 
Lot of very special talent up front in both classes. Really looking forward to see in Kopp move up to Twins someday and battle with Daniels.
 
Incredible riding by Kopp and Daniels, so smoooooth in those tricky conditions. The finesse and concentration it takes...amazing.

Looking forward to the next one!
 
Senoia Short Track tomorrow, Saturday the 25th.

21 SuperTwins entries. 36 Singles entries. 24 Hooligans.

Still have lots of different engine platforms in SuperTwins. With the '23 schedule pretty much evenly divided evenly among TTs, Miles, and banked Half Miles (Daytona, Lima, and Ventura being the outliers) its possible that particular engine configurations will be success on particular layouts. Could be a real interesting season if the Yamahas dominate the TTs, the Indians dominate the Miles and the KTMs are the bike to have on the Half Miles.



Tomorrow's schedule (All Times Pacific)
Three classes: SuperTwins, Singles, SuperHooligans

1:00pm - Practice and Qualifying

4:15pm - Heats, Dashes, and LCQs

5:10pm - Mains
 
The Arizona SuperTT returns this Saturday night. JD Beach picked up his first National Flat Track win here in 2019 coming through the pack and putting on a show for the fans. Beach is the favorite again at the hometown event for Estenson Racing. This track is fantastic. Don't miss it.

Some spectacular riding on a tricky surface at the SuperTT. Love this layout but wish it had been a night race. Won't spoil the results for anyone waiting to watch later but its definitely worth catching the whole program.
 
Camping at City of Rocks NM. I watched on my iPad on fanschoice.tv. If you did not watch catch the replay. :thumbup

Mees just posted that he lost his front brakes on lap 5, did the best he could with it, then got into Turn 2 too hot leading to his crash.

Later they found the brake rotor wore through the brake line....yikes!

Thats crazy. Tolbert has been setting up that bike for TTs since 2017 so you think they would have everything ironed out. Just shows how hard racing is even for the best.

AFT round 4 is tomorrow evening at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas. The D-shaped Half Mile has some elevation change with Turns 3/4 being significantly higher than 1/2. I guess that was the Devi's work.

The Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. program kicks off its 2023 season as part of the AFT program. 21 Twins and 39 Singles are on the pre-entry list so the heats will be full and the LCQ's action-packed.


Heats start at 5:45pm Pacific
Mains start at 6:30pm Pacific
 
Lets not forget all the excellent local flat track and speedway events that happen nearly every weekend during the summer. Nothing beats a warm summer evening watching racing.

Lodi Cycle Bowl's season has started. Their next Short Track race is April 29. The Night Before the Mile attracting pros with big purse money is Friday May 12 just prior to the May 13 AFT Sacramento Mile. Lodi's full schedule is here.


Fast Friday's Speedway in Auburn should be on everyone's summer must see list. There is an event nearly every Friday night from mid-May to October. The Extreme Sidecars, North-South Challenge and USA vs. The World are extra special but any night of Speedway is time well spent. Fast Fridays 2023 Schedule.
 
AFT starts the first of two weekends on the Best Coast with the first ever visit to Ventura Speedway, were all they need is a blue groove, some tasty waves, a cool buzz and they're fine.

Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. and the SuperHooligans join the usual Singles and SuperTwins for a night of short track racing.

Opening ceremonies start at 6:30pm (Pacific). Main events at 7:30pm.
