I’ll say it.
Made in Japan>Made in Canada>Made in USA>Made in Mexico.
European makes can slot in anywhere except above all Japan construction…nothing can touch that in terms of quality and reliability.
I don't get Consumer report ratings anymore.
Quite often their top rated cars/suv's are known time bombs....

punchline of that thread is that duder buys a used r63, 12k miles later it blows the engine because that's what the amg 63 engines do (shitty headbolt design, compounded by the most likely to fail head bolt being impossible to access because: minivan) and gets butthurt when the dealer won't help him fixt it... then fixes it himself.
you could put a toyoya diesel in it tho. that would be rad

After fixing everyone else’s cars all day long, I’ve got no motivation left to wrench on my own stuff.
What do you drive?![]()
I remember reading that saga a while back. I guess if you have the time? Sure take it on yourself. Me? I’m more than happy to slap a “bought not built” sticker on my car. After fixing everyone else’s cars all day long, I’ve got no motivation left to wrench on my own stuff.
