The Official 2012 NFL Thread

After being beaten by the New York Giants, in their own home for the NFC Championship, the San Francisco Forty Niners have decided to win NOW by BECOMING the New York Football Giants.

Fixed. :laughing

Manningham, Big Thunda, tried to get their own Manning, The Niners understand that if you want to win Superbowls, you must BECOME BIG BLUE!!

Good strategy!

they understand that to win super bowls they become a franchise that has fewer super bowls? :confused

No, the Niners have to become a team that has won 2 in the memory of people who AREN'T Senior Citizens and have MORE Championships than them. Much respect to the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers, the only 2 teams with MORE NFL Pro football Championships that the current PRO FOOTBALL CHAMPION NEW YORK GIANTS!!

I'm kind of used to it though. The Giants have a LONG history of not cowtowing to player wishes and making sure players know that it's a business and they can take or leave it. The number of former Giants I see playing decent ball on other football teams is always kind of crazy to me. We just seem a lot more interested in finding new talent than making a fat deal.

Niners have LESS championships than the Giants. :dunno The only teams that can get in a legitimate historical dick swinging contest with Big Blue are the Packers and Bears, and Vince Lombardi learned how to Coach Football working for the Giants. Much respect to Chicago for saving our franchise in the 20's by bringing Red Grange onto the field and boosting attendance despite our loss.

So unless you're a Packer or a Bear, you should probably not worry too much about history and focus on what is happening in current football.

Oh wait...

Uh my 6 rings are calling. You should probably pick up.

Your first 4-yr-old-girl rant started talking about senior citizens then you mention PRO Football championships as opposed to SuperBowl wins.

Is it easier talking out of both sides of your mouth?

I don't have a problem with it -- Max asked for it by dragging the past into it. I think the Giants have done pretty well in the last 10 years. (Then again, so have we. :teeth )

exactly, and nobody gives a fuck about the pre-super bowl era except franchises that don't have enough lombardis in their trophy case.

stfu, he was the one that started talking about winning SUPER BOWLS not "nfl championships" which the first 3 super bowls didn't represent btw. but "nfl championships" are his ace in the hole. nut swinger.

Settle down, Max. Just think, someone else will likely win the SuperBowl in just 11 more months.

;)

That said, as a Steelers fan, feel free to ignore everything that happened before 1969. :laughing

dude, you're a total nut swinger. i can count on 3 things in this thread:

1) say anything negative about the bengals and brian goes apoplectic;
2) niners lose a game, fgt asim is in here celebrating like it was his team that just did something;
3) eldritch says whatever nonsense, and you're in here shaving his balls for a nice deep one :p

No dude, I'm talking about current ball. The game for which we are the current champions. Some other motherfucker brought up OLD championships, but guess what, unless you're a Packer or Bear, we win there too. What, do you want to play some silly real of selective history that favors your teams? Yeah that's real valid. :laughing OK, well the current NFL Formation of 32 Teams has been in place since 2002, so unless you're a Steeler, a Giant or a Patriot, pretty much everyone else can STFU. Anbody who has been to Canton can plainly see how many guys are in the Hall of Fame from BEFORE the stupid AFL tired to win and had to merge. Even great former Forty Niners like Y.A. Tittle. You can talk history of the NFL (Founded in 1920) or you can talk about here and now with legitimate Authority. Any selective PIECE of history is just silly weeping for some shit that favors your club. If we like that, I'll talk about the last 5 years, which belong to the New York Football Giants. ;)

Never forget, SteelerFan, your team started it's career with a 23-2 stomping by the New York Football Giants in 1933. Welcome to the league, don't forget your place. ;)

You want to talk historical Football or do you want to talk current winners? New York Giants win both conversations. ;)

While I appreciate the swing to go after the Bengals, I feel like we inappropriately skipped making fun of the Raiders. There is an appropriate order of menace and a quota here.

Too easy... maybe some of the old jokes from 2004 will come back around. :thumbup

(I just wanted to use the term "Bang Gals" in a post, and that story popped up, seemed appropriate... :teeth)

They DO usually have some pretty top notch cheerleaders...

How about some Manning vs. the Raiders humor. You'd think there would be something by now.

I agree with the Pitt/sf nutswingers again.

Football became a different game when the merger happened. Therefore any reminiscing of championships earned before the league who revolutionized the game was finally recognized as a legitamit and more entertaining product was included and thus brought the game to what we all recognize as the game we love, is moot.

Bitches.

Bang-Gals, or whatever the Bengals cheerleaders are called, are even getting in trouble these days....

Yeah I saw that. Not one of the hotter BenGals either. (I like Bang Gals better!)

One of the cheerleaders, who I believe is 42, just wrote a book. She's the oldest cheerleader in the NFL, and the she just signed a contract with New Line Cinema to have a movie made based on the book. (no its not a porn movie!) Google Laura Vikmanis.

Yeah you're totally right. Dick Butkis, Roger Staubach, Joe Namath, Dick LeBeau, Fran Tarkenton, JIM BROWN, JOHNNY UNITAS, FRANK GIFFORD, CHUCK BEDNARIK, JIM THORPE, RED "THE GALLOPING GHOST" GRANGE!! None of these guys deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. Oh Wait, the Hall of Fame has been around since before the Superbowl Era too, so I guess the Hall Of Fame shouldn't mean anything either. You know and honestly, the game has changed a GREAT DEAL since the Steel Curtain Defense and John Madden's Raiders in the 70's, so we probably shouldn't count that either.

:hand

Your sense of the sport is weak. You want to just rule greatness by the Modern game? Great, the 32 Team, Free Agent Era, 16 Game NFL Season has been running since 2002. My guys still have 2 Superbowls, how have yours done? ;)

I was thinking it was too early to start preparing a carry in sign that says "C'MON, CRIPPLE HIM!" or "HIT'M IN THE NECK!" with the writing hi-lighted with silver glitter.... :thumbup
