yeah, i'll go with that.

read something about a.j. jenkins moving up the draft charts last month, still thought he was a 2nd rd guy. niners had a chance to trade back five spots with minnesota, but baalke thought he'd be gone by then.

just because the talking heads at nflnetwork and espn don't rank him as highly doesn't mean he isn't better than the guys they have been chattering about for 2 months. there's a reason why baalke is reigning exec of the year and kuiper, mayock, mcshay, et al aren't working/have never worked for nfl teams.

anyway, foiled gain by baalke in our attempts to guess who the niners would pick.

interesting, rams had jenkins rated similarly to blackmon. probably would have taken him at the top of the 2nd

Rams miss out on Jenkins

9. I think, after a conversation with one club official on a team that scouted receivers extensively this draft season, I felt better about the 49er pick of virtually unknown A.J. Jenkins from Illinois at No. 30. "We had him rated ahead of Michael Floyd,'' this club official said. "He didn't have a good quarterback to get him the ball, and he's raw. But he's fast. We liked him a lot.''

wwad?

All I know is, if the 49ers don't have the most Epic Passing Game in the NFL after this off season, all the Baalke love needs to STFU.

I'm just still cranky that we went for a Powerback with our #1 when I felt like that was a 2nd or 3rd round need. The Giants have need at LB, CB and WR that all should have come before a 3rd down back, which is all this guy is supposed to be. We needed to fill the shoes of Aaron Ross and Mario Manningham before we worried about Jacobs old job and that is if we ignore our seemingly constant need at Linebacker.

The Pats made some pretty nasty looking improvements to that shoddy defense with 2 first round picks though. Anyone think they'll take the AFC AGAIN?

My guess is that they went with the best player available instead of reaching.

"Raw but fast" means the dude doesnt do anything well but run in a straight line. They'll have to teach him how to run great routes. Thats not a bad thing considering the WR free agent pickups the 9ers made this offseason.

Yeah, that's ALWAYS our party line, but I don't but it. I wish the Pats hadn't grabbed Hightower at 25, but I think there are still 2-3 LB available that could have been comparable to Wilson and shit, man, we don't get to go again till 63.
