Happy New Year everyone. I usually don’t do New Year’s Resolution but I’d like to make the following fitness goals for 2020:

• Delts - Build my side delts.
• Flabs - Lower my BF so I can rid that fat around the belly & see my flabs, er, abs.
• Glutes - Add glutes to my routine.
• Macros - Calc and track macros to really see improvement.
• This thread - Keep this thread alive as its helped me tremendously.
• Pull Ups - Get to 25 nonstop, dead hang pull ups.
• Bench Press - Regain my strength on the bench.

What are your 2020 fitness goals?

This year I just want to love me as much as other people do.

20 minute row
Shoulder press sets of 8 to failure 205lbs currently 6 sets in...
I'll probably row again today. No running today.

20oz protein shake
6oz spinach
2 tbsp almond butter
8" gingerbread pancake with egg whites and oats
I'll eat about 2000 more calories in complex carbs and protein today.

Plenty of people, in here, to give inspiration for doing even more for 2020.

I cut my protein shake size in half, want more definition and no more bulk than I currently have.

Highest weight in 2019: 259.8# on June 22
Lowest: 220.2# on Dec 27th.
New year's start: 224.7 today

I'd like to be under 200 for Denali, that's a lot of extra weight to be carrying twenty thousand feet up a mountain. But even more importantly, I'm going to be vastly more focused on my training plan. Sticking with low carb, keto/Paleo foods, intermittent fasting, no artificial shit and minimal alcohol.

After driving eleven hours home today, took the dog for a 5k run. Good to get out and stretch a bit.

If you go too low on carbs it can dramatically affect your training. If you find your cardio is deteriorating look at your carb intake.

Personally I wouldn’t even try keto unless I was obese and inactive.

Ok, maybe someday I’ll try a keto diet but I think carb-cycling with good carbs and meal planning is pretty good.

Does bulk mean muscle?

Me, I slacked off a lot last year. I’m bulking up for a few months to regain some lost muscle. Muscle memory is awesome. I’ve been having lots of fun in the gym lately gaining strength basically every workout.

Bulk is muscle size. I have the size I want, now to tone it.

Yeah, muscle size comes back very easy, the part that can get you in trouble, especially if you'r past 30 and have taken a 6 month break, either through heavy work load or some other reason, the muscles and strength will come back very fast, but your tendons and ligaments will take longer to return. I had shoulder surgery in my early 30's because work had gotten in the way of consistently working out, then when the strength came back fast the ligaments in my shoulders weren't ready for it.
