Yeah I have a mirror on my e-bike and I miss it on road bikes so I use a Tri-eye sunglasses with a built in rear view mirror.

It works

Wow. Must check this out even tho I don’t ride anymore (too time consuming).

I tried SPD, but much prefer my Speedplay pedals, far better to get into and out than I've found others.

I’m at sports basement they have a big sale I got Shimano shoes for 50% off. And some socks and new gloves while I’m here.

i passed 50.6 lbs lost today. it’s only a few down from the last time i shared but it’s a big deal and a big milestone for me.

Just started back to the gym last week. Working my way back up slowly to avoid injury.

Also after seeing vacation pics I am now getting serious about diet and weight loss. So far since last Monday I have lost about 7lbs I was averaging about a pound a day but recently have slowed today to about .5 pounds. It's going to be a long slog to lose the weight I want but it will be worth it. Once I hit my goal it will be time to gain mass so lotsa protein to try and get some muscle mass.

Just hit ocean beach on my canyon bicycle. Vastly prefer the double sided mountain bike spd style pedals.

Need to reconfigure my Wahoo computer it's all power meter oriented right now and my power meter was built into the Look style pedals.

still going at it. I aklso have been doing the boxing class where we get to spar a tad bit. Definitely fun while training cardio and muscle groups.

Possible to run a high HR resistance /Mass resistance alternating program as startup and see how it goes? Less mass to be gained, but IME, much better mass stability for your frame. Smaller, but leaner and easier to maintain.

Weight loss is mostly diet rather than exercise but muscle burns more fat than lack of muscle. Protein is for building muscle but won't help you "lose weight". "lotsa protein" won't do much if you're not lifting.

Anyone ever has sleep issues after cardio? Like I rode in the afternoon but was so wired as usual afterwards, but I felt very tired and went to bed at 10 but just couldn't really fall asleep easily. I was very hydrated and had eaten. I feel great this morning and usually sleep fine.

Yup. Right now doing high rep low weights to maintain strength while I am dieting/modifying eating habits. Once this phase is over and I am at a weight I am comfortable with I will then switch to gaining more muscle mass so will switch to lots of protein and higher weight less rep sets. I don't want to get huge but I do want to have a muscular look.

I do think that the weightlifting I have been doing has been helpful to the weight loss as it does burn more. weird thing I have noticed is that I lose less weight on the days I go to the gym but the calorie intake is about the same as on off days which is weird but as long as it's coming off I am fine.

Yep. I get this if I don't eat/drink enough during and right after rides. My body just seems to run hot and then I struggle to sleep. It seems like I need to give my body every chance to recover well as early as possible.

The only post-ride fix that has worked for me is an ice bath. Well, it's more a cold water bath for 10min, as I throw a few large icepacks into 4" of water in the tub. It's enough to reset my core body temp and cool my legs down. But I don't need the bath if I ate well.

I find they have worked for me in the past when I was so warm I'd keep sweating even after a shower but only in warm weather places.

I think it might have been the food issue. I only had a PB&J sandwich for breakfast, then did the ride, then ate half a large chicken quesadilla with half an avocado and the same again for dinner. Tons of water though I was fully hydrated.

I've read a lot of about the all around health benefits and especially athletic recovery of full ice baths but I'm not sure I'm 'hard' enough to be able to handle an ice bath.

I have taken to finishing all my showers cold. Especially if it’s before bed and after a workout. It definitely helps me feel drowsy and get to sleep. Glad you’re riding again Jordan! I see your PR’s Robert. :thumbup
